2007

JUNE
The Investment Analyst Society of South Africa presented Datatec with an award for best corporate reporting in the sector General - Industrial: electronic and electrical equipment, engineering and machinery, information technology and telecommunications.  This is the second year that Datatec has received an award from the Society.

APRIL
Westcon Group, Inc., announced that its Comstor Middle East business unit has won Cisco's Distribution Partner of the Year award. This award follows the successful launch of the new business operation in Dubai, which was announced in December 2006.

2006

JULY
The Investment Analysts Society of Southern Africa has lauded Datatec for their interim results presentation by awarding the Group “Best Company Presentation for 2005 (market cap below R5 billion)” at their annual awards event held recently.

MARCH
Datatec subsidiaries Westcon Group and Logicalis announced today that they had won eight prestigious awards at the Cisco Global Partner Awards held recently in San Diego, California. Logicalis received two of Cisco’s most prestigious citations:

The ‘Cisco Worldwide Enterprise Partner of the Year 2005’ award, Cisco’s top award for its enterprise partners, was presented to Logicalis Argentina.

  • The ‘Cisco European Services Partner of the Year 2005’ award, an award which is testament to the skills, dedication and passion for service delivery within the Logicalis team

In addition Logicalis received:

  • The ‘Cisco Gold Partner of the Year Award’ in the UK.
  • The ‘Cisco Services Partner of the Year Award’ in the UK.
  • The ‘Cisco South America Enterprise Partner of the Year 2005’ and the ‘Cisco South America Partner of the Year 2005’ award.

APRIL
Comstor, a division of Westcon AME, has been named the Distribution Partner of the Year Middle East and Africa (MEA) 2005 at the Cisco annual partner summit held recently in Vancouver, Canada.

2004

DECEMBER
Westcon AME's three divisions scooped three Distributor of the Year titles at this year's CRN Outlook Awards.  Westcon won the distributor of the year award in the Security Management: Hardware category, Comstor won in the Wide Area Network Equipment category, while Scantec won in the Point of Sale Solutions category.

NOVEMBER
Comstor South Africa, part of the Datatec Group, has been named by networking giant Cisco as its Distribution Partner of the Year for South Africa which covers the entire sub-Saharan Africa region.

2003

DECEMBER
Logicalis in North America, has earned IBM's highest membership status of Premier Partner through its commitment to value added integration solutions, sharp revenue growth and high customer satisfaction ratings. To achieve Premier status partners are required to meet technical certification, customer satisfaction, revenue growth and new customer acquisition requirements.

JULY
John O'Malley, vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Westcon Group, Inc., Datatec's a global channel provider of networking and telecommunications technology products, has been chosen as one of Irish America Magazine's Wall Street 50 for 2003.

JUNE
Westcon Inc., has been named by internet security leader Check Point as its North American istributor of the Year. The award recognises Westcon's achievements in 2002 when the company generated the most sales, the highest distribution market share and most value added services of any Check Point distributor in North America.

MAY
Westcon, a channel provider of networking technology products and a division of the Westcon Group, has been presented with RSA Security's North American "Distributor of the Year" award for achieving outstanding sales during 2002. Westcon, who distributes the market-leading RSA SecurID® two-factor authentication software, is RSA Security's top-stocking distributor and achieved 2002 sales levels of nearly double its nearest distribution competitor in the United States.

APRIL
The Australian government recognised Logical Australia, part of Datatec's Logical Group, for its contribution to the development of the country's information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Logical received a Certificate of Recognition for its contribution to the Australian IT sector and for its industry development nitiatives. Specific Logical commitments have included the establishment of a Regional HQ for the Asia-Pacific region in Australia, an SME support programme and an IT Skills Development Program.

Logical, the professional services and IT network integration company, has enhanced its position at the forefront of the growing IP telephony market with the announcement that it received the Best of Class award at Cisco Systems' Innovation Through Convergence Expo. The award was for Logical's development of an XML-based phone services application for the healthcare market. The award recognizes Logical as an industry leader in the development of applications using Cisco Systems IP Telephony technology. The Cisco IP Telephony Users Group, an independent worldwide organization comprised of IP Telephony users who determine best practices for IP Telephony deployments, issued the award.

Logical US, has further strengthened its position in the burgeoning IP telephony market by becoming one of the first companies to receive double certification from global networking giant Cisco Systems. The certifications, referred to as "specializations" by Cisco, recognize Logical's standards and achievements in the fields of IP Telephony Technology and Services Specialization. The specializations acknowledge Logical for having the advanced training, knowledge, personnel and experience to deploy complex, large-scale Cisco IP Telephony solutions. Customer satisfaction and top-class telephony operation laboratory are further criteria used by Cisco.

JANUARY
Westcon Group was named by Nokia Internet Communications (NIC) as it's global partner of the year. The prestigious President's Global Partner of the Year Award recognizes the global contribution made by a partner with regard to revenue generation, growth, market expansion and overall contribution to NIC in improving its end-to-end channel to market.

RangeGate SA, Datatec's mobile solutions subsidiary, was named as 2002's most admired mobile solutions provider in a survey of South Africa's top 150 corporate IT users. RangeGate took top honours ahead of Hewlett Packard and IBM. This long-established award programme, run by ComputerWeek Strategist magazine, recognises those who are setting the standard in terms of service and business benefits for their customers. 

2002

OCTOBER
Datatec was named South Africa's most global company for the second time at the South African Global Company awards ceremony. The awards provide the only forum for measuring how local companies, listed and unlisted, fare in the global economy. Datatec was the only company ranked in the top 10 on all four major criteria, scoring an overall ranking of 89%. The company ranked first on the overall global index and foreign turnover, second on foreign assets and sixth on foreign directors. Of Datatec's R20.68-billion annual revenue, 96% is generated outside of Africa.

SEPTEMBER
Mobile solutions provider RangeGate was one of the few South African companies to attend Microsoft's Partner Executive Summit in Seattle in the US. The summit gives key partners an insight into Microsoft's strategy for the coming 24-month period.

Logical received an HP OpenView Crystal Award for the Best Application Management Solution. Logical's US operation won the award for an enterprise application management solution it designed for Capital One that delivered a rapid return on investment and demonstrated HP OpenView's end-to-end application management capabilities. This is the second Crystal Award that Logical has received in recent years.

JUNE
Datatec is ranked fifth in the Financial Mail's annual Top Companies report, which is based on an independent assessment of more than 600 listed companies.

APRIL

MARCH
Mason was the highest ranking consulting business in The Sunday Times '100 Best Companies to Work For' - ranked number 36 in the UK overall. It is the only survey that ranks British companies on the basis of what their employees have to say. The company submitted a Culture Audit which covered issues such as employee demographics, benefits, internal  communications and recognition schemes.

OCTOBER
'Niche exploiter' Datatec wins the SA Most Global Company Award Johannesburg in an index developed by Business Report, Barloworld and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
