Founded in 1985, Westcon Group, Inc. is a global channel provider of networking technology products. The Group is strategically aligned with the vendors who are shaping the future of the networking industry, principally Cisco Systems, Avaya Communication and Nortel Networks, as well as other innovators of next-generation networking.

The Group provides a full line of connectivity solutions including products and services for convergence technology, remote access, Internet and e-business, virtual private networks, videoconferencing, wireless connectivity and network security. Westcon Group, Inc. is also a recognised industry leader of a variety of branded, value-added services to support solution providers, integrators, dealers and value-added resellers (VAR's).

Comprised of individual operations under the Comstor (Cisco-focus), Voda One (Avaya-focus) and Westcon (Nortel-focus) brands, Westcon operates a global distribution business throughout the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. The Group has a sales force of more than 400 people, supported by over 100 certified technical personnel, and provides Cisco, Nortel and Avaya with a dedicated sales team by marketing products and services through three branded divisions, each focused on the products of one of these vendors:

  • The Comstor division offers a wide range of Cisco products in the USA, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Australia and Singapore. Comstor is one of only three authorised distributors for Cisco in the USA, and is one of the two largest distributors of Cisco products in all Cisco’s other countries of operation;


  • The Voda One division is focused on providing Avaya’s products for the rapidly growing market for convergence solutions. Voda One was created by combining the operations of two distributors of Avaya voice products: Inacom Communications, Inc., which was acquired in July 2000, and CCA Technologies, Inc., which was acquired in September 2000, with existing Avaya operations within Westcon. Voda One is a USA-based operation, with Avaya products in international markets being sold through the Westcon division;

  • The Westcon division offers a wide range of Nortel products in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and Brazil.

Through its vendor relationships and geographic operations, Westcon Group is able to operate as a highly effective, valuable global provider in the distribution channel.
